HOW THE ECONOMY CAN AFFECT YOUR MARRIAGE

AN ECONOMY IN RECESSION CAN PUT A LOT OF STRESS ON A MARRIAGE. NOT ONLY FROM INCREASED WORRY ABOUT PAYING THE BILLS, ALTHOUGH OF COURSE MONEY WORRIES CAN ALWAYS CREATE SOME TENSION, IN TOUGH TIMES, PERSONALITY DIFFERENCES, EVEN DIFFERENCES IN GENDER MAY MAKE THE SITUATION HAVE MORE CONFLICT.
WHEN THE ECONOMY IS TOUGH, THERE MAY BE STRESS OVER WHERE THE MONEY IS SPENT. IF YOU HAVE A SPOUSE THAT IS A SAVER, AND YOU LIKE TO SPEND, THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE TWO MAY CAUSE ARGUMENTS. THE ONLY WAY TO GET AROUND THIS IS TO MAKE AN INDEPENDENT SPENDING BUDGET THAT EACH PERSON CAN USE FOR WHATEVER THEY WISH WITHOUT COMMENT.
THE SAME ALSO GOES IF YOUR SPOUSE IS A WORRIER AND YOU ARE MORE LAID BACK. THE WORRIER MAY BE STRESSING AT THE SITUATION, WHILE THE LAID BACK PERSON MAY BECOME ANNOYED. THIS COULD LEAD TO ATTACKS ABOUT THINGS THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SITUATION.

DEPRESSION

LATELY, WITHOUT ANY JOB SUCCESS, I FEEL LIKE A COMPLETE FAILURE. I SNAP AT EVERYTHING WITH MY FAMILY. IT IS NOT FAIR TO THEM TO LIVE LIKE THIS. I GO DAY TO DAY. I DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING. I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE MY HOUSE. I HAVE TURNED TO EATING FOR COMFORT, AND NOW, IT IS MAKING THINGS WORSE. I HATE THE WAY I LOOK, THAT MAKES ME EVEN MORE DEPRESSED. NOW, I NOT ONLY FEEL LIKE A FAILURE, NOW I FEEL LIKE A BIG FAT LOSER. WHEN ARE THINGS GOING TO CHANGE. THIS IS LIKE A LIVING HELL. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON FACING THIS SITUATION, IT IS IN THE 10'S OF THOUSANDS. I AM THINKING WE ALL NEED TO JOIN TOGETHER TO MAKE A SUPPORT GROUP. IT IS MORE THAN ONE PERSON OR FAMILY CAN HANDLE.

UPDATING YOUR RESUME

IT IS VERY SERIOUS WHEN YOU PUT TOGETHER YOUR RESUME. IT IS OFTEN THE FIRST IMPRESSION THAT YOU WILL MAKE ON A PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYER. HOPEFULLY, AFTER THE EMPLOYER LOOKS OVER YOUR RESUME, YOU WILL GET AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A SECOND IMPRESSION.
WHEN YOU PUT TOGETHER A RESUME, EVALUTE THE NEEDS OF THE EMPLOYER AND THEN DETERMINE HOW BEST YOU CAN FILL THOSE NEEDS. DO NOT EVER LIE ON A RESUME. IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO A COMPUTER AND A PRINTER, YOU CAN DESIGN A TARGETED RESUME FOR EVERY JOB THAT YOU APPLY FOR. IF YOU HAVE TO PRINT THEM ALL OUT AT ONCE, YOU WILL HAVE TO GUESS A LITTLE TO COME UP WITH ONE STRATEGY THAT WILL IMPRESS EVERY EMPLOYER THAT READS YOUR RESUME.

I want to scream, I have a degree and I can't get a job

I just want to scream. I spent money to go to college so I could better my future and have a better paying job. Now I am paying for school loans and I can't find a job.

In this economy finding a good job is tough for anyone.I found out that you need to be willing to start at the bottom. Just because you have a college degree, don't assume that you can start higher up.If you live in a city, most insurance companies usually have openings for adjusters. They require a bachelor's degree.

Take your resume and have others look at it. They may offer some suggestions.
Make your resume short, one page. Highlight what you did on other jobs and volunteer work ect. with bullet points instead of paragraphs.

Today, employers have to read a lot of resumes, make it short and direct.

While you are searching for a job, try to do some volunteer work. It gives you something to put on your resume and it may lead to a job. You should also be willing to work part time. While working part time you can still search for something else.

I need to learn how to sell myself to employers

I know my resume is put together and looks great. I am depressed, I don't sleep, I look horrible from the stress of being unemployed. I am trying to learn how to sell myself to the employers so that I can get a job, and get out of this rut. I am tired of not having a job, I am tired of not having any money and tired of not being able to pay my bills. I am proud and I have ALWAYS paid all of my bills early or on time. Not anymore, it makes you feel like you are a low life, or a bum. I did not choose this path, it chose me. i am trying my hardest to keep my chin up and dig my way out of the trenches.
I have read so many articles about job interviews and this is what i put together:
-Be pleasant, concise and businesslike. The attention span of most people is short, so you should not give a complete history of your life. Being prepared is the key and you should keep these tips in mind.
-You will have approximately two or three minutes to talk about yourself. A suggested format includes 45 seconds in which you give a brief history that covers why you left where you were, why you are in the interviewer's office and your educational background. For example: "After graduating from college, I was recruited to work for Company X where I have a variety of assignments. Due to the company restructuring I am pursuing new opportunities."
-During the last minute, concentrate on your work history. This is your opportunity to link what the company is asking for to your qualifications. Review your skills, strengths and accomplishments. For example: "I had the opportunity to work on projects ranging from design and development through implementation.
-Emphasize on your work history, not your personal life. Comments about family, health, politics or hobbies should not be included.

Last but not least, smile and be confident. I hope that these tips work for you. I wish everyone in this situation and anyone trying to better themselves the best of luck.

I lost my job

I know I am not alone to share my story. I worked as an office manager for almost ten years when I lost my job. Six months after I lost my job, the company my husband works for filed for bankruptcy. He is an engineer, so naturally, the higher paid employees get let go first. He lost his job the next day. I found a lower paying job and my husband found a great job, we were actually surprised at that. But, we once again had the rug pulled out from under us. Ten months after he started his position, that company restructured and once again he was unemployed. I know everyone says that the economy is getting better, but that isn't changing the fact together we lost THREE jobs in less than a year and a half. I am a proud person and to ask for help is embarrasing. I stepped so low as to call our local food bank to help us with some groceries. I have never felt so awful in my life. I don't like to depend on other people. But, I did not have a choice at this time.
